When commercial kibble is made, it goes through extensive processing and heating that destroys vital nutrients and enzymes, which are essential for your dog's health. Every commercial kibble, including grain free, contains a minimum 25% of some form of starch. This is required so the kibble can maintain its shape but it also a cheap filler. These starches have almost no nutritional value for your dog and some brands contain up to 75%!! The freeze-drying process preserves food using a chamber that is cooled to -40 degrees F. It then uses a vacuum pump to create a vacuum in the chamber. Once a vacuum is achieved, it is warmed only enough to allow the frozen water on the food to turn into water vapor which is pumped out by the vacuum pump. This process leaves the food un-cooked, dry with the vital nutrients and enzymes preserved! The food maintains its shape and appearance without adding fillers. With an air tight container the food can be stored for up to 25 years!
